Junior Firefighters

Holly Grove Fire Dept. Advancement Ladder

Probationary Firefighter: The probationary firefighter will have a green stripe or green helmet so you can be identified on an incident scene. This is for your safety.
The probationary time period is 3 months. After 3 months you will be voted on by the Holly Grove Board of Directors. You will remain a Probationary Firefighter and the green stripe or green helmet will remain.

Firefighter: A Probationary Firefighter will become a Firefighter after completing the 1403 and Hazmat Operations classes. There will be a test administered by the Holly Grove Officers. If there is a satisfactory pass given by the officers the green stripe will be removed from your helmet.
Firefighter responsibilities are stated in the SOG book section 21.06-21.09

Firefighter I: Your status will become Firefighter I upon completion of the NC Firefighter I certification.

Firefighter II: Your status will become Firefighter I upon completion of the NC Firefighter II certification.

Driver I: The status of Driver can be added to your title if you meet the following requirements.

1. 21 years of age or older.
2. 1 year of service to Holly Grove Fire Dept.
3. Satisfactory completion of Emergency Vehicle Driver class.
4. NC drivers license classified B
5. Satisfactory completion of Holly Grove Fire Dept. Driver Training.
6. Checked off to drive each apparatus by a Holly Grove Officer.

Driver II: The status of Driver II can be achieved by satisfactory completing NC Driver\Operator certification.
